Ever since Apple recently updated its software system to iOS 13 and android phones moved on to 10 a new feature has popped up in mobile phones. Both the leading mobile maniacs have added their specific dark mode feature, which has been an ongoing struggle to achieve by other developers. Google Chrome, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter have made the dark mode option available on their apps. WhatsApp has not yet achieved the same. Nevertheless, it is about to change soon as the developers are working on it.
A specialized entity known as WABetaInfo has dissected the WhatsApp beta releases, which suggests that the dark mode is under progress and will soon be released. WhatsApp itself has been trying to come up with a new approach to the regular dark mode by changing the color scheme to blue or green, which gets immediately activated once the mode is switched on. The app’s screen itself will appear to be dark, which will address the issue of bursting white colors that blinds the user at first instant.
WhatsApp has even taken care of the emoji option menu, which flashes a ray of bright white light. The developers have taken care of every minor detail with respect to this feature. However, a major concern that appeared among the developers was the message bubble that pops up in the chatbox.
Along with the dark mode, WhatsApp developers are planning to introduce more exciting features such as self-destructive message which disappears after a specific amount of time. Based on the assumptions, it has been predicted that one can set a time span of those messages which they will be deleted.
However, this feature seems to be old since this feature has already been updated on Facebook messenger, Telegram, and Signal. Rumors suggest that complete data will be hidden from the contacts which have been muted. As of now, muting a contact does not hide away the information shares by the contact, but once the new update comes into play, all the updates will be hidden from the contact unless chosen not to.
The details are not out yet as of when the updates will be taking place, but all we know that it is still in working. Once the developers roll out the feature, it will be accompanied by a description in regard to how to use the feature. Another important aspect that would make the users switch on to the dark mode is probably the most important of the lot.
By switching on the dark mode, users will be saving some battery life. However, for the time being, the app also suggests a way to save the battery life is by going to the settings followed by chats, then wallpaper, and select a solid color. Select a dark color instead of a light one because Google suggests that black pixels drain less battery in comparison to white pixels. This feature does not change the colors of the bubble but simply save some battery.
Another hack to save battery life and memory is by selecting data and storage usage. This option allows you to choose which media will be downloaded and will be downloaded only when you tap on them. iPhone bestows an excellent feature upon the users with the power saving mode to save the battery life, which reduces the brightness, close running apps from the background and reduces the CPU speed.
The exciting new features help users increase their battery health and put a rest to the strain that is imposed when constantly looking at the bright screen. As of now, all we have to do is patiently wait until this feature is rolled out.
